The vets themselves are amazing, and I have nothing but praise for their care and professionalism but the reception service has always been extremely frustrating. On two separate occasions with both of my cats, I had to bypass reception and contact the vets directly because the receptionist failed to recognise the urgency of the situation. One of my cats was literally dying, yet a routine check-up was treated as a higher priority than an emergency and again I had to make sure I got directly through to the veterinary team which did consider it an emergency. On another occasion, my other cat had suffered a bite and was told to wait more than 24 hours because the agenda is full. I understand receptionists have to manage appointments and prioritise patients, but there needs to be BETTER judgement when someone is calling with a genuine emergency. It is incredibly stressful to have to argue your case or find another way to reach a vet when you are already worried about your pet. P.S. Please listen back to your phone recordings before accusing clients of being rude or shouting. During one call, the receptionist accused me of “shouting” while she clearly wasn't even listening to what I was saying, and then hung up while I was still speaking. On another call, I said that the clinic was trash and considering the way my emergency was handled, was an expression of my frustration and opinion. Apparently, they both need a refresher on the difference between someone being upset and someone actually being abusive or rude. Ps2: same issue happened to my neighbours and their 2 cats and they decided to change vets

All the staff really love animals and always make us feel welcome and my dogs relaxed. The consultation was very thorough and 1 dog was booked in for an op later this week, (no long waiting list). Although we didn't talk about prices, they send me estimates before procedures. Thanks for looking after my tribe Paxton Vets.

My mature cat requires critical dental treatment. This was discovered at her annual jabs and health check. The vets have been brilliant at managing her care leading up to surgery via pain relief. Louisa, the practice manager, has been absolutely invaluable in terms of sourcing dental surgery via a specialist dental practice given Maisy’s age, and the fact that she was very poorly last year due to an infection, which the vets managed to treat very effectively, thereby saving her life. Louisa has taken on responsibility for liaising with insurers and progressing the specialist dental surgery, which proved to be no easy matter as there are waiting lists at some special centres. Not only has Louisa supported Maisy to obtain a date for the treatment she desperately needs, but she has also supported me through this progress. I really can’t thank her enough for her time and commitment, and going above and beyond.
